Interview with French electronic duo, neumodel

French electronic duo, neumodel, have released the second video off of their upcoming debut record, “Rock”. ‘Black Block’ is based on their previous video, ‘HAYAH’ ft. Kiddy Smile.

Its opposite is ‘Black Block’. ‘Black Block’ is ironically an admission of weakness and helplessness. We see from afar and from above the world’s violence around us: symbolized by “the Black Block utopia”

What are your earliest memories of parties and DJing?

We were closing a party in a warehouse in Paris suburbs but the cops went through before our set. We could not play but it was of first DJ memory as neumodel.

What are your favourite tools for producing music?

Where do you go when looking for new music?

Movies. Pictures, movie scenes inspire us.

What is the most memorable response you’ve had to your music?

They thought the entire track was sequenced with VSTs while every part was actually played with a guitar.

Please list some of the most influential albums on your creative outlook and output:

Massive Attack – Mezzanine
Marilyn Manson – Mechanical Animals

If you weren’t a musician, what would you be?

Tell us about what your upcoming releases or projects?

Our debut album called “Rock” will be released on April 17th.
