DJ Saint M. Seagull released the two-track ‘Hallelujah’ on 31 July, expanding the anonymous electronic producer’s ongoing focus on spiritual and progressive house material. Known for operating behind a monk-like cloak with an identity kept private, the artist previously released the melodic progressive singles ‘Pray’ and ‘Confession’, both built around gospel-inflected vocals and deliberate drops. All parts on this new release were written, produced and remixed by DJ Saint M. Seagull himself, with every element made original.

The original ‘Hallelujah’ occupies space between dance-pop, electro, gospel house and sacred music. A motif drawn from the traditional melodic formula for the word “Hallelujah” is replayed on an electronic organ, accelerated and processed until its liturgical source sits just below the surface. An MC passage opens with sermon-like cadence before organ, strings and choral voices accumulate toward an oversized final acclamation that moves from radio-scale immediacy to the scale of a rave’s closing peak. ‘Hallelujah (Enigmatic Techno Remix)’ rebuilds the material as a separate composition through slow-release tension, extended transitions and hypnotic repetition that draw from early-2000s progressive house and the deeper strain of the Global Underground tradition, turning familiar fragments into a darker continuous journey.

The ceremonial structure, with its sermon-like cadence unfolding into layers of organ and choral swells, seamlessly transforms into house-music dynamics. Here, progressive builds conjure a ritualistic energy that resonates just as powerfully on the dancefloor as it does through headphones, preserving the producer’s spiritual-electronic vision while expanding its reach.
