Releasing the double single ‘We Collide/ Dark Muse’ via IAMT Music Group, Luis Del Carmen continues to share his natural flair for techno music and beyond. Inspired by classical sounds, the producer adopts these structural elements into his sound and the results are breathtaking. The music producer also shares music under the alias Parnassvs, and also has released music under multiple labels like Blackhole Records and Eclipse. Luis Del Carmen sound could easily be passed as cinematic, hence why in his downtime he is also producing movie scores.
By the sounds of it, he is quite a multi-talented bloke, and we are thrilled to present this exclusive interview with him.
What are your earliest memories of techno music?
Listening to my cousins’ play early tapes of Praga Khan and Utah Saints.
Tell us more about how your latest release was conceived and created.
I’ve always wanted to create a melodic techno track similar to the style of Space 92. This was created playing notably with simple melodic chords and getting inspiration from similar artists.
What are the key pieces of gear or software that you are using when producing music?
Digital Synths–Omnisphere, Diva, Serum as well as a Korg Monologue for basslines.
What is your favourite part of the creative/production process?
There’s always the “eureka” moment where grooves, melodies and everything else just simply works.
Outside of music, where do you draw inspiration from?
I try to listen to classic music as a sort of audio mouthwash whenever I get stuck on the same concepts.
What is your favourite subgenre of techno music and why?
I love hard techno mainly because of how versatile artists get when it becomes this controlled chaos and energy.
Tell us about your upcoming releases or projects
I’ve got one release with Numen very soon–a bit on the faster side. Can’t wait to show you guys!
